- Tona: I...I can't.
- Me: Exactly.

i really want a capelet coat, except i want one that’s really well made and has longer sleeves (aka, not the ann taylor loft version of a capelet coat). this is something that i will be wearing for years, so i’m willing to spend some dollares on it—say, up to $600. anyone have any suggestions, even on wear to look? i would prefer one with just buttons, no tie, and in a nice neutral (or red!). HELP!
Cate! I saw this cape coat in Emmett McCarthy’s collection when I was working on my Project Runway blog post. It’s so gorgeous and his work gets rave reviews for its quality and timelessness, AND it’s on sale for $600. Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for, but I love love love it.

In order to win the votes of the triad’s faithful followers, Republican politicians bartered themselves into a hear-no-wrong, see-no-wrong trade-off. This trade-off allowed Falwell to hold sway with politicians, and appear as a respected political pundit on right-wing shows, even after outlandishly insisting that the purple Tinky Winky children’s character was gay, or that the anti-Christ was coming in the form of a Jew. He could promote the idea of ending the public school system in favor of church-run schools, as he did in his book, America Can Be Saved, yet still wield considerable influence in Washington.
This is close, but doesn’t quite show every side of the issue. Sure, the Republican party courted the religious right, thus bringing a whole bunch of crazies, power hungry charlatans, and neo-cons into the fold. In the process, the Republican party was changed.
But the religious right was also changed. In exchange for access to power, they were forced to accept all sorts of anti-Chrstian things, not the least of which is torture, un-just wars, and fiscal irresponsibility.
In the end, they each killed each other; or, they killed themselves.
Spot on, dude.
